Experience
Angela is an international lawyer with over 30 years of experience in the field of Commercial and Corporate law and in recent years has gained experience in Real Estate and Estate Planning, including Trusts.
After completing an internship for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of Nebraska, Angela began her career as a lawyer with the renowned US law firm Paul, Weiss in New York, specialising in Corporate Law, M&A and Financial Markets. She continued her specialisation in Europe, working for the Dutch law firm Loeff Claeys Verbeke (predecessor of Allen & Overy/Loyens & Loeff) and for prominent Italian law firms such as Pavia and Ansaldo.
One of the few Dutch lawyers in Italy and a member of the bar associations of Rome, Amsterdam and New York, Angela holds a unique position and has gained extensive experience in assisting foreign clients through the Italian legal system. This particular position allows her firm to advise Invest Tuscany, a regional service aimed at attracting and supporting foreign investors in Tuscany. Angela also serves as President of the Italian-Dutch Business Club (DIBA), which has members from all over Italy and the Netherlands. In addition, Angela assists Italian groups in their international expansion using an extensive network of renowned lawyers, tax consultants and notaries abroad.
Before starting the firm Mannaerts Moreschini, Angela was a partner in two Italian law firms operating in the international sector. She specialises in Commercial Law, Real Estate and Corporate Governance and provides general corporate advises.
During her professional activity, she has advised multinational groups as well as mid-sized companies, financial institutions, investors as well as developers operating in various sectors of industry, manufacturing and real estate. In addition, she performs trustee services, ensuring the adequate investments of a trust’s patrimony and monitoring the investment portfolio.
Angela has published articles and regularly participates as a speaker in seminars, courses and conferences, both in Italy and abroad, on topics concerning Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate and Labor Law, as well as the development of the legal profession in Italy.
In 2012, Angela Mannaerts received from Scenari Immobiliari, an Italian independent real estate research institute, and the Italian Association of Female real Estate professionals (AREL) the RE Innovation Lady Award. The award was based on Angela’s initiative to convene Dutch real estate groups and investors to Rome, which project she subsequently implemented with the Mayor of Rome, and which was followed up by matchmaking sessions between the groups with local members of the National Association of Constructors.
