Paola is a lawyer with 35 years of experience in General Civil Law, and, in particular, in Dispute resolution, both in judicial proceedings and through Alternative Dispute Resolution instruments, Insurance Law and Civil Liability, Consumer Protection Law and National and International Family Law.

She started her career as Chief Legal Counsel for a prominent Italian consumer association, specializing in Contract Law and injunctive relief actions related to consumer contracts. Until 2010, she worked as a stable consultant for various consumer associations and lawyers and entities, including the Italian Association of Banks (ABI) on issues of customer protection in the provision of goods and services.

Subsequently, she handled civil liability cases of public bodies, associations and healthcare facilities, working as trusted lawyer of an insurance company.

During her career, Paola has been committed to the development of ADR instruments in Italy by promoting and participating in numerous associations, bodies and networks, and organising training activities for mediators and conciliators.

Since 2012 she has also been working steadily in the field of international family law. She is President of ICALI (International Child Abduction Lawyers) and Italian partner of the European network LEPCA (Lawyers in Europe on Parental Child Abduction).

Paola has been participating for several years as a speaker in training courses organised by universities, professional orders, public bodies and private associations, on issues related to conflict management tools, the use of ADR with particular reference to family law, child protection – especially in cases of international child abduction – and the protection of the rights of public service users and consumers, both individually and collectively.

In 2022 Paola participated in the working group set up by the Ministry of Justice to prepare the draft decrees implementing the Cartabia Reform on ADR. In 2023, Paola was delegated by the Italian Ministry of Justice to participate in the UNCITRAL working group on Dispute Settlement, an ongoing UN project.
